This weeks shopping trip corresponds to the current sales ad. This week I made a mistake at the store and purchased Cole's bread sticks rather than New York bread sticks which were 50% off. I did not realize my mistake until after I left the store. Publix was willing to exchange them for the right brand but that would entail Publix throwing away the Cole's bread sticks. So, I decided to keep them because there is no need to throw away perfectly good food. Even with the screw up I still saved a lot!

Hi there...Great trip, but I am curious. Am I missing something or did I misread...how do you already have and have used coupons for the $1.50/1 Tidy Cats that is in the 1/30 RP??
ReplyDeleteGreat job on your savings. I hate it when I do mistakes like that, but I agree with your way of handling it.
ReplyDeleteI would like to invite you to link up your savings at the Weekly Savings Linky @ Frugality Is Free , you can win a free ad space too!
This weekend only: Win 4 Free Target Chips Coupons – 2 winners – Quick giveaway ends Sunday.
You didn't misread...I was tired and forgot to write in the explanation...sorry! We receive the RP in the mail on Tuesday before they are released so I was able to round up an extra coupon from a neighbor to use for the sale.
ReplyDeleteI applaud the way you handled the mixup, and it was a great shop anyway! Thanks for linking up at http://shopperstrategy.com :)
ReplyDeleteVery interesting about receiving it in the mail...how might one do that? Thanks for the explanation!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure how you go about getting them in the mail. I have lived several places in Jacksonville and this is the first home I have lived in where you receive them in the mail. I do know that you can request them by mail if they are not offered in the local Sunday's paper. Visit http://www.valassis.com/1024/Contact/consumersupport.aspx to sign up!
ReplyDeleteAwesome shopping trip. I don't have a Publix here in Texas but I wish I did. I'm so jealous of everyone's Publix trips.
ReplyDeleteI also get the Red Plums in the mail before they come out Sunday. I'm not sure how that works either. It's kind of fun though because you automatically get to see what is coming on Sunday and you get at least double the normal amount of coupons.
